One thing you can do is when you focus on a specific taste is to use a piece of gum or mint that's really helpful or maybe if you dip focus on that then it will help you to still you mind later now I know focusing on sounds using nature app is helpful on Google play is helpful
 
Best to choose something positive that you like and are familiar with: a favourite picture or figurine. I have 4 crystal figurines that I like and I focus on one of those. The mind is only capable of thinking one thought at a time. Once you focus on it for a certain period of time it becomes imprinted (programed) on the subconscious at the soul level and shuts out everything else.
