I have posted a few topics but I dont see them on the topics or message list

Well they could have not gotten through because the mediators thought they were against the rules.

You have to wait for the moderators to approve them. They don't just show up immediately after you post them. When a moderator logs on you'll see your post being posted together with the other posts that were approved, if they were approved and not against the rules.
