When I was making the planet squares, I didn't use paper; I just read the number for each day. Did I need to read it from a piece of paper? I learned that some screenshots do that.

You don't need a paper. You can do something like look at a picture saved on your phone.

It does not matter. What matters is that you have a proper meditative state, recite the correct number of repetitions each day, and perform magick as it should be performed for optimal results.
