dedication ritual antics

Alright, tonight barely anybody was home so I decided to complete the dedication ritual huzzah

But I just need some clarification on some aspects.
So I folded the quite large piece of paper and put it in the candle. I thought I should rip it up but I guess I decided not to since it said to fold it up.
Yea so I end up stinking up my house a bit... I went outside and chilled and watched it burn. It was still pretty thick and completely coated in wax at this point, and throughout this my finger is still bleeding with soot on my hands... etc.
The paper ended up not burning completely so I started to burn it with the lighter and pulverized my thumb. (Still did not completely burn...)
So... I put all the debris in a bag and disposed of it... I've never heard anyone struggle at all with the dedication steps so I'm kinda torn, did it still work...
I don't really feel certain so I'm worried. I used a generous amount of blood too.

To my dismay after posting this, I quite literally forgot the last step of the ritual.
I still hold the greatest intention and hope in my heart that this has been acknowledged.

As I can see almost nobody performs this ritual perfectly. It doesn't have to be perfect don't worry. The main point is the statement with this ritual.
