The alpha female

I made the other post about the alpha Ayran male now I would like to discuss the qualities of the Alpha female. I am curious what others views on this are and what makes a powerfull example of the female Ayran. Women and men are different we have different strengths and qualities. Different natural roles. But neither is 'better' than the other.

Power and leadership, strength and stamina without being overly masculine or loosing the qualities of grace and nurturing. I again look to nature. The lioness is a powerfull huntress and feircly protective of her cubs. Yet she is agile and not as massive as the male. When no suitable male is present the alpha female is the one who takes charge and sits at the top. Often I notice the alpha male and female in animals working together such as in a wolf pack.
My home gaurd dog is a female maremma she can be as gentle and nurturing as any mother to the small animals and to her 'family' but if danger threatens such as a fox or wild dog she becomes something very terrifying. Any male dogs that have been around who were not as bold and tough as her had their asses handed to them in disgust. My new neighbours male rottweiler cowered away from her.
Yet I can leave baby chickens and small ducklings with her and she will take care of them as if they were puppies.

Horses, the stallion is the protector of the herd but theere is also always a top mare, or lead mare and she is the one who moves the herd and makes the rules. She is the one who teaches manners to the young horses and will chase out any who will not behave. When danger threatens she expects the stallion to stand his ground and her and the stallion will be the ones out front of the herd.

The mares also test the stallions. The stallions fight it out to decide the toughest. Then the winner will start snaking the mare. (this is when a stallion lowers his head and tries to round her up) the mare responds by stomping squealing and throwing big kicks at his head. She will beat the shit out of the stallion and if he submits she wants nothing to do with him. She is looking for him to not back away from her threats because if he can not take it from her he is not worthy of protecting the herd and re producing.

I have had to compensate for having the lack of any alpha males in my life. I had no father when I grew up only my grandfather I have never had a strong male partner. I had to learn how to fight, lift heavy things and strengthen my body and mind. I had no siblings and few real friends and it had confused me for a long time because I would look down on other women I considered weak and useless. They would complain they could not do things they wanted because their husband would not help them or build something or fix something. I do not want to have to rely on anyone for help with something I can learn to do myself. I do not now believe this makes me any less feminine. I weight train and can lift more of my own body weight than most women I know but I do not look anything like a man. My muscles and toned and tight not bulky but they are defined. I like to keep my body fit and as strong as possible without looking like the hulk. I have a very strong instinct to nurture and take care of others.
I am attatched to my home and as much as I love my action and physical challenges I like to have time to do softer more gentle things too like sewing clothes, art, and tending to my animals and garden. Sometimes I wear the pants and others a nice dress. Time and a place.

There is another interesting thing with animals, with chickens if there is no rooster and a number of hens there will be one hen who will grow bigger, stronger and be dominant. She will even mount other hens and sometimes crow! But when a rooster who is tougher than her shows up they have a fight and if he wins she is content and resumes more female qualities.

I realised in reality if the Alpha male is killed the females cannot be left helpless without him.

Hail Satan.

Another one most people wouldn't know about unless you have been involved with parrots. This is for the Asiatic parrots such as Indian Ringnecks and Alexandrines. It could apply to others but I have no experience there. I have been involved with birds for many years. I have had a lot of time to study behaviour.
The breeding and mating behaviour of parrots is interesting and very confusing to some people.
The females can be highly aggressive. Many breeders have wondered why they kept loosing males in single pair aviaries as they introduced them at breeding season. They were removing the females from their breeding programes that killed males thinking this was a bad thing.

What happens is, the females test the males they don't want a wuss as a mate, its that simple. The problem is minimised when they grow up together as they test each other over a period of time and the female waits for her 'mate' to 'man up' in such cases she rarely kills him just refuses to mate with him if he dosn't cut it.

I keep my pairs together all year and let thrm grow up together and watch them closely in spring and I have never lost a male yet. The male makes advances when he comes of age and the female attacks him even budgies do this the boss of my aviary is my pet female who has refused every male she has met)
The female will chase the male sometimes for days and if he panics and fears her she might kill him. If he stands his ground and spreads his wings in defiance she backs off and he will begin his advances again from a safer distance. She is not being nasty it is just a survival instinct. While she is on the nest she is vulnerable to predators as are the hatched chics. She rarely leaves the nest so he also has to feed her, he does this by visiting her in the nest and regurgitating food into her beak. If he is a weak male it will take too much out of him and he will die leaving her to raise the chics alone. Or is he is a wuss he might fear a predator and fly away in a panic leaving her to be trapped in the nest hole and killed. So it is obvious to me why the female is a vicious bitch choosing a mate. However once they have bonded they become a close working team and will usually stay together for life or for many seasons. I have seen males commit suicide and destroy their cages, tear all their feathers out and even fly into the walls and break their necks after loosing a mate.

Hail Satan
