Synthetic fabrics

Lately, in local stores is becoming almost impossible to find clothes that are 100% natural fabrics like cotton, linen, wool, cashmere, silk and so on. Or at least that have an healthy percentage of natural fabric (at least 90%). Even online I'm finding it difficult to find sweat pants and sweat shorts with the same characteristics and reasonable prices.

I wanted to ask what's your opinion on synthetic fabrics and their suitability to be worn in contact with one's skin. Even my dermatologist has adviced me to avoid them, but he didn't say if it was because I'm an allergic subject or else. Nor did I ask.

You don't need to be allergic to them, but remember polyester is made from kinds of plastic like components. So is fleece made out of recycled PET bottles. (Unless you have bamboo fleece but the process of making that is still harmful for the environment).

I have noticed the same thing. just undergarment is cotton with elastian.. Although I do understand the elastics sometimes that can be overdone too.

Also if polyester burns, it melts. Meaning it becomes stuck on the skin. That is primary school stuff. Kindergarten. And still they sell more and more polyesters. (Cotton does not have these properties).

I don't use undergaments with elastan anymore. It used to constrict my skin and with movement that constriction kept rubbing my skin, producing rashes. Then, especially during summer, sweat was added, thus producing infections. Since then I turned to 100% cotton boxer shorts and the only elastic part is the waistline.
