Hello fellow brothers and sisters. Ill try not to waste anyones time. I seem to have a slight pain towards my upper spine near the shoulders.
it seems to slightly crack in that area when i lay down at night. And gives me problems when trying to sit properly. I do not have scoliosis in the slightest im 99.6% percent sure. Its not a significant pain. More like a minor nusianse at times. I avoid trying to crack it ive read that is not a good idea. It eases when i do hatha and kundalini yoga. And starting the KY spinal series today has helped. What i was wondering. May sound strange. I was searching the internet and i read magnesium deficiency can cause stiffness and a lack of flexibility when needed. I was just curious if certain supplements could ensure the health of the spine. I did read HP Shannons post on collogan. Just unsure if that applies to spine joints. Probably a moronic question. But any pointers for this slight annoyance is greatly appreciated.

I just would like to understand, the pain comes and goes or it just always there and yoga soothes it abit?
The pain, does it feel like a joint problem and related to the bones, or does it feel like a muscle inflammation?Do you feel like the bones are weaker and brittle.

Also, Magnesium does factor in as it prevents cramping too. Collagen to. Most of the body's magnesium is in the bones. Collagen helps with the flexibility of the joints too.

Continue to do your yoga and the KY spinal series as that should straighten you up and align your muscles and spine, etc. if your posture is off then you should work on that.

The possibility of an energy blockage makes sense. Sometimes the energy isn't running smooth either.
Also, a good ole' massage from time to time might help too as this helps smooth the energy, like with acupressure. maybe you need to try the Qigong "Standing like a tree" routine.

One other possibility, is that fact that most people have awful bed mattresses and/or pillows. If we spend 8 hours lying in bed, you need to make sure you have a good quality mattress that properly supports your back. Unfortunately, these mattresses can cost thousands of dollars.

What is your exercise regime like?

If any at all...

Have you always been fairly active or sedentary?
