Yes, though you should be cautious about what magic you do. Obviously, you probably shouldn't be using death magic unless you really know what you are doing, but feel free to do it to your hearts content. Besides, abusing demons really has more to do with summoning them using abusive methods. Using harmful magic on them would be attacking. Which, I don't know why anyone in his right mind would want to.
