Question about chakras

I'm kinda confused about chakras...are they constantly opened? I was reading the "closing your chakra" meditation and was wondering if they're always open. When they are shut, do they stay shut for awhile then they'll reopen again or do we open them ourselves? Do we have to constantly open and shut them daily? Thanks! NGU666

Our chakras are closed while we are new, but in time we start opening them up.
The reason why we close our chakras is when we feel like our energy is being sucked out from a specific chakra, like crown chakra or even just throat chakra's energy being sucked out, then we close our chakras, but they re-open again after a bit.
