Pendulum using... need help.

Alright so I'm going to say this before I start. I have read over the JoS site on how to use pendulum's so please, no one send me the site. I have read it over many times and I realized. How do you do this right? Everytime I hold the damn thing, I notice that my heartbeat is making the string vibrate softly causing it to go all over the place and not stay still. Anyone know any good tips/tricks or hints or anything? Thanks.
