I mean, you can dedicate your soul, but personally, I do not think that the gods want you to "sell" your soul, nor do they actually want your soul. I believe they're more dedicated to make us transcend and reach our goals by using our own power, they can teach you how to do that. And yeah, sure. They can teach you how to manipulate the masses, even obtain fame and fortune but you have to put a lot of work before that can be done.
