A short motivational video. The over all message can apply to anything be it meditation, Ritual's, magick for yourself, or personal skills and goals, etc.

"How to Make Time for Yourself and Your Sewing || How to Find Time For Hobbies":
https://youtu.be/v3RcNnPv-z8

Heh good to see that video again. Actually its good advice that I could use rn. ty :)

Oh also the bedsheet thing, it was in one of Rachel Maksy's videos. She wants to do like one dress or one project in a week and it ends up being glued together and stuff. Its actually quite entertaining haha.
She's not so much into historical sewing but more like vintage and cosplay.

No problem. I needed the advice myself and just had a moment where I thought that it would be good to share it since it applies to more than just sewing.

YES!! I recently started watching her channel not long after making the OP. At the time, I figured may as well branch out and find more sewing folk to learn from, and then stumbled on her channel.

I’ve started to appreciate the vintage style more and have been picking up a few extra tips for myself thanks to her videos. I’ve been in a creative spirit for a number of days now just designing clothes for future projects for myself and jrvan (sewing machine is on the way!). Can’t say I didn’t suddenly develop an obsession for poofy-floofy sleeves because of Maksy

aaah nice! those sleeves are indeed more fun than those boring straight ones haha.

Such a dumpster fire of a thread…dear Gods and Goddesses…

Sad.

Stressing won't fix my health, so it'll be better this way. It's not anyone's fault, that I made this decision, I'm just sensitive like I said before, that's all. And IT could be my fault to cause trouble here, which I am sorry.
Jack, I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings. It was not my intention. I would feel bad if you did.

Thanks for chatting with me, you were kind to me and I aprecciate it. Good luck to everyone!

Prez in life you will end up saying things to people and hurting people no matter what. Even if you don't want to hurt people and seek for a peaceful way out.. how much more abuse are you willing to take?

You've said nothing wrong here. Your own opinion is not wrong, in that we all have motivations and reasons for saying these things. Its that when our views change and our eyes are opened that we change what we say.
But our own opinion is our truth.

I hope you'll at least visit the forums occasionally. If you want to email, here's my adress: [ email redacted ]

Yes, I am aware of that. I don't want to hurt people, but that's not always possible.
Maybe I won't be very active here, but I will still visit this forum from time to time. There is a lot of helpful information here that I want to use, since I want to develop more and to read announcements.
Thank you for everything.

Please do not stray from or be driven away from forums because of feeling hurt. Thuis is a very good resource for you and can help you grow. Please know the people you don't vibe well with can be put on an ignore list so that you will not longer see their posts. Don't allow yourself to be driven away.

I didn't take this short break to whine about this situation, and I never intended to leave Satan. I would never leave him. I was doing more Ritual, meditating, yoga etc. so it come for the better for me. This what happened here was a good lesson for me.
Thank you for all your advice.

You're right, Jack has certainly made many good contributions, and I shouldn't have diminished that. It sometimes seems to me like he potentially does more harm than good in certain places, but I can't erase his accomplishments and I don't want to take away from that. I suppose I got a little fed up here with some of the nonsense and misunderstandings, and reacted too harshly. That's my bad.

I don't think he is a bad person either. This comment which he mades towards me, it could be my fault too. Maybe I provoked him, or he helt attacked by my words, but it wasn't my intention. It's looks like he is making fun of my feelings, but I don't believe he did that without proper reason. What I intented to say is he should realize, that sometimes his words about women can be misinterpreted and make other women feel worse. I won't say he is mysoginist, I don't know this and I won't say things, which I am not sure, but sometimes I get the feelings that he is hostile towards them and it's hard to take it otherwise. I only wanted him to try understand that there is a reason others see it that way. I don't hate him. I want to look at this from another perspective and I don't have ill intention towards him too, but his actions can push people away from him and he can therefore be left alone. Loneliness is not fun, everyone deserves love. That's what I meant, when I said I felt pity for him. After all, he is one of us and we should help each other, not put ourselve down. It would only be nice, if he tried to understand at least a little what other women want to convey to him.
Anyway, thanks tabby and jrvan for standing up for me, Lunar and others womens. Maybe he will consider, why he is disliked here by womens, maybe not. It's up to him, but everything has a reason. I don't intend to comment on this thread about him anymore. I wanted to clarify some things, but that's sewing topic. So from now I will comment only about it.

No, he's in the wrong. He went way too far, and he's a monster for it. Making fun of your post and your experiences is one of the cruelest things I've seen from him, and I'm absolutely disgusted by him. He's not a man at all. You are a rape survivor, and he had no right to attack that. I will never condone a man bullying his family like this. It's unacceptable.

You don't need to leave over someone like Jack. He's not worth it. He thinks he needs research studies to tell everyone that healthy humans prefer healthy humans even though that's just common sense. He's a fool.

Well, I want to move on, but thank you for protecting me to the end, when I was too weak to do it myself and run away like a coward. If someday I could repay you for it, I would gladly do it.

Exactly, I understand you! The joy on other people face, when you making something nice to them, priceless. For example, I like to bake for my brother and sister-in-law sometimes. They really enjoying this, so me as well. Recently, I sewed his favorite cartoon character for him for Christmas. His face was everything. But I like to doing this small things for him. He helped me a lot and is always protective towards me, the best brother I could imagine to have.
This is so cute, you maded this child happy. :)

I believe, like every sane women.

So practice and patience. I hope I can manage, I am used to using hand sewing. This would be something totally new for me, but I like to try new things. Besides it would be faster this way. I will search for some tutorials, thank you.
I think I will start with her with making stitch embroidery and then we could do some plushies. This is what she would like to do it anyway from what I had observe. After all she always comes to me, when I am sewing mascots. When she will come back from vacation, I will ask her to make sure. Thank you all of yours advice!
Haha yeah, I remember my first bunny that I sew. Now I think he looks hillarious and insane, but back then I was really proud of this. This motivated me to practice more and more. That's why I want to start with sewing clothes.

Nice, what sort of things do you like to bake? I love making apple and raisin turnovers. My mother use to make jam roly-poly's with us as kids, except we used pastry instead of the pudding/cake stuff and had it with vanilla ice cream.

Sounds like you have a wonderful relationship with your brother :)

haha that reminds me of a plushie I made for a school project (hand sewn), it was a little octopus with a top hat  . I can't remember if you mentioned this already but how long have you been hand sewing for?

No worries, I wish you and your sister the best of luck!

Thank you for giving me advice. I thought a lot about it and started looking at it from a different angle. I still feel embarrassed to write now after all this, but I also want to develop further and get stronger and running away won't solve it.
Yummy! You made me want to bake something now.
I bake things that I am sure others will eat. Usually it's a brownie, since it easy to make and everyone always eat it. Cheesecake, shortbread cookies, muffins, currant tart etc. I don't know how it's named in English, but recently I made "Fiona" cake. This is a cake with a biscuit, two layers and raspberry jelly. A lot of work, but it was worth it.

True, we do. He is one of the most important people in my life for me.
Cute! She definitely looked great, I am sure of it. I also wanted to sew an octopus once. I do not remember exactly. Maybe three or two years. Nobody ever taught me sewing. I became interested in it myself and started to learn on my own. Once in school, we had one sewing class and I didn't get any of it. My mother did not teach me sewing, when I was child, either. Only when she noticed that I was starting to learn, she made small corrections to me. She even wants to teach me to embroider now. Now I am doing well and smoothly, but when I remember my beginnings, I feel like laughing. I wish I had been taught this before. And you? I don't remember if you mentioned it. Did you learn from a child or did you learn by yourself like me?

"How to Make Time for Yourself and Your Sewing || How to Find Time For Hobbies":

I watched this video after doing a bit of sewing earlier (just repairing some old clothes, unfortunately there are delays in the delivery of the fabric I wanted). I noticed while I was doing it just how relaxing it is; there is something therapeutic about it. She mentioned that in the video as well. It's just so intuitive, yet requires focus, which means it helps it take my mind off things. It's really nice.

If just repairing something is this much fun, then I look forward to having fabric to work with so I can make something from scratch. I'm glad I thought of giving sewing a try; I didn't realise there was so much more to it than just making clothes.

That’s something I love about sewing. The whole world around me just falls away, and all that’s left is just me and the thread of my needle. I’m not sure if it’s the same with a machine but when I’m hand sewing I find it’s a great time to state some daily affirmations, because I’m already in a meditative state. (I forget if I mentioned that already or not haha).

I’m happy I could help ignite that spark further with this thread, Meteor. That’s wonderful :)

Man, you named a lot of bakery foods that I love! I’ve not heard of “Fiona” cake before. Whenever I hear that name I just think Shrek haha.

Haha we all start somewhere.
Yeah I was just a kid. A lot of women in my family are seamstresses in their own time. I started with just fabric glue and spare material before my mother and my grandnan taught me to use an actual needle and thread

I managed to find the original video tutorial that I used to make my octopus plushie!

Haha, you know what...you are not wrong. There actually is a cake version of Shrek! And it looks like this:
Fotoram-io-3.jpg

And here is Fiona:
Fotoram-io-1.jpg

They are similar to each other, but have a few differences. Shrek has a gooseberry or kiwi flavor (depending on what you choose) and Fiona has a raspberry flavor.

So you started, when you were little. No wonder you have so much knowledge in this field. I wish my mother have teached me too, but maybe I didn't show too much interest in it before.
Thank you for this tutorial! I am definitely going to sew this octupus with moustache and hat. He looks pretty cool.

And by the way...I finally bought myself a hoop and another embroidery tools. Now I just need to find a nice pattern and start embroidering. I'd like to embroider flowers on it for sure. Your post made me want to go back to sewing and trying new things. Sewing has always calmed me down, so I'm glad you decided to create such a thread!

Aw the pics didn’t come through right. Oh well, but that is funny there’s a Shrek version

Never too late to learn. I had a lot of fun when I made my octopus plush, the only part I had trouble with was attaching the feet things but eventually I figured it out haha.

Oh nice! Embroidered flowers are so pretty. I’m a total novice with embroidery currently but if I could sit down and make floral patterns with it I totally would.

You’re welcome. I’m really happy it’s been helpful for you and others. I guess I should give some credit to Meteor for asking me about sewing advice. If not for her I probably would never have made a thread like this. Something like this wouldn’t have crossed my mind to put out here on my own.

Oh, I swear they appeared properly in the preview, I don't know what went wrong, but anyway, they are delicious. I think it's probably a recipe from my country, so that's why you may not have heard of it.

Truth. When my sister got such an octopus, I joked that I would also sew a similar one. I didn't look at any of the tutorials before, as I forgot about it, only after you wrote it, I realized that I was going to sew it. Glad you gave me this link to it. Anyway, I think I might have trouble attaching these feet like you, but I think I'll figure it out somehow too.
If you know other interesting tutorials on sewing mascots, you can also send me something interesting.

Me too. Actually, this is the first time I embroider, but like I said before, you inspired me to try different things. And yeah it's a bit time consuming, but it looks pretty good. Maybe it's not perfect, but for the first time I'm quite happy with the effect. I have to finish the last flower and it will be done. When I get embroidered practice and my works will look better, I'm going to make one to Father Satan. I saw people drawing before, and as I draw rather average, I thought that I could give something in a different form.

Also I got a machine sewing from my aunt. My grandfather suddenly had the idea that he wanted to buy me a machine, then my aunt found out about it and she gave me one. So when I finish my embroidery practice, I will finally start learning how to use the machine.

Yes, she deserves credit too! Both of you actually. :)

No matter. Food from others countries has always intrigued me. Learning about the different flavours and techniques, common household traditions at holidays. It makes me happy, well, good food in general makes me happy

Oh haha funny how things happen. I know I hand sewed it together and had to fiddle with the feet a bit... I think I ran a thread through all the feet first to sorta string them together and then attempted to attach it to the body. I'm not sure if that's how you were supposed to do it but eventually it worked out and sat properly, but might need to try a couple ways and see what works best.

That was the only tutorial for a toy plush I used, the rest were just going off the top of my head, but I'll keep an eye out for more tutorials that look like they will work. Maybe I'll inspire myself to get back into plush making again haha.

Nice! Well done. I know what you mean, I'm still trying to polish my drawing skills in order to actually draw what I see in my head on paper but got a ways to go. I think an embroidered piece to Father would be wonderful.

Good luck to you with your machine :) and happy sewing haha.

YES! IKR? I saw 'em the day the video came out. If I had the time and materials I'd totally want to make some and take a hike around town in them  already head deep in a few running projects as is haha.

You heard about the lady making the peacock dress? She's dropping the project, apparently.

A shirt's collar, cuffs and tie are symbols of slavery.

I suppose that would depend on who you ask and where you site your info on such things. If you wanted to go down that particular rabbit hole you could go as far to say that necklaces, chokers, bracelets, anklets, rings, etc, are all "symbols of slavery" for the fact that these items are made usually of chain, and worn on the common areas of the throat and wrists. But logic and simple peeks into history would tell you that these are no such symbols but instead ones of power and wealth. Adorning the body in riches to display status, hierarchy, beauty, and ceremony (among other things).

The cuffs and collars, ties and such today mean little more than design choice of the clothing to achieve a particular silhouette and appearance of the person wearing said clothing items. As desires and tastes in fashion change so does the appearance of clothing and the purpose it provides the wearer. A button down shirt with a suit and tie, well pressed cuffs and collars have been symbols of authority and power of the wearer for a long time after the use of robes and cloaks fell out of favor. There's a reason wealthy politicians and government rulers wear them. One look at a man or woman in a suit and you know intuitively based on their appearance what their status and type of job in society is, and these kinds of people are rarely if ever on the low rung on the ladder.

A quick search into the evolution of collars and decorative cloth worn around the neck or a look at cuffs will show you that those of even the highest place in society often times had very elaborate pieces, especially around the neck/throat.

These pieces on the clothes also serve specific purposes in most cases not just as a fashion statement or accessory. The cuffs on shirts and sometimes coats allows for the shirt to be fastened at the wrist, making it easier to keep the fabric of the sleeves out of the way of the hands, usually only required on long sleeves. Decorative edging on the cuffs and collars were often added and could pose as a symbol of status based on how elaborate they were. Collars have served the purpose of not just causing a shirt to be more flattering visually for the wearer but also can act as sun protection for the softer skin of the neck and throat, as well as keep the skin contact to outer garments to a minimum. The most common places for shirts to go nasty and yellow are around the neck line, arm pits, and wrists, and so wearing clothing that covers these areas prevents the same from happening to more expensive outer wear like a coat for example, that are also harder to wash.

I'd rather not turn this into an essay so to cut this short, making statements like that are more or less redundant really since whether you were rich or poor, slave or not, your clothing (depending on the period and fashion taste) all had pieces like collars, cuffs, and decorative cloths for the neck within their clothing choices.

The reason that robes and cloaks fell out of favor is because they didn't require as much maintenance.
Why do we find certain clothing more attractive than other clothing?
Anti-functional is attractive
We find something beautiful when the creator of the item had the opportunity to make the item functional but chose to make it anti-functional and restrictive. Only people with lots of resources can buy such items.
Why does a Porsche 911 look better than a pick up truck? Because the Porsche 911 is anti-functional despite having a higher price. You can transport very little stuff with it despite its sole function being a transport device.
Why do women wear heeled shoes? Long hair? Long nails? Clothes without pockets?
They are all anti-functional.
The signal that women send with such clothing is that they don't have to do heavy work and that they have plenty of time at their disposal.
Maintenance heavy clothing is attractive
For the same reason that anti-functional and restrictive clothing is attractive, maintenance heavy clothing sends a signal to others that you don't do heavy labor and that you have plenty of time (thus resources) at your disposal to maintain such clothing.

Politicians wear shirts and ties because they have to. They have to obey their masters. If they were truly powerful they wouldn't wear them.

K so ffies these first 2 lines I wrote were insults. I deleted them.
To be bluntly honest I still think your views are unnecessarily sober and actually unhealthy.

Gentiles create things of beauty.
Clothing is not as impractical as you think. Most of those delicate artpieces that you speak about are derived from normal day working clothes. They are not that much different.

If you do not understand that you ought not to wear your normal work clothes to a ball then I am not sure what will make the coin drop. Of course you wear pretty things as a show-off. And there is N O T H I N G wrong with that.

Perhaps go and watch some of Abby Cox' videos. Or some of the other dress historians on youtube. Then come back and talk here.

I don't think you'd think about the time it takes to sew a proper garment either... You simply don't spend elaborate amounts of time on sewing your work clothes only to stain or dirty them.
As for the 'maintenance heavy' part. Please do get more knowledge before making assumptions. We are not here to babysit.

Like tabby mentioned, you wear a shirt underneath your clothes. Your "UNDERGARMENTS". Those are washed frequently and worn so that you don't dirty your normal clothes/outer wear as much. Pretty elaborate clothes are NOT daily wear. As thus, they are NOT "maintenance heavy" as you call it.

I’ll write as much as I can here without making this too long. It’s my belief that “we are what we wear”, and no body wants to walk around with ill fitting clothes that make them feel and look more like a slave than a healthy wonderful person.

A shirt's collar, cuffs and tie are symbols of slavery.
That might be a matter of culture. What one person might consider classy fashion, another considers slave fashion.

When I told my mom that I'm interested in earrings, she said to me not to get my ears pierced, as pierced ears are the mark of a slave. I was a bit shocked, since many women I know do have their ears pierced, and I never thought any less of them for it. But I noticed that, true to her word, she never got hers pierced. Now I chuckle when I see someone with very ornate and pretty earrings, as there's such a gap between how fashionable I think it looks and my mom's words on the topic.

Cultural norms like that differ from place to place, from person to person, and even over time. That said, I can see how a tie might be a symbol of slavery, considering how condescendingly you could grab someone by it. A shirt's cuffs and collar just look reserved, though.

They are not that common but you have earringa that clamp on your earlobe. No holes needed but they do hurt after wearing them for some time.

I actually got interested in earrings since I saw a set that looked really nice, with gemstones. But it was the type that requires piercings, and rather expensive at over a hundred euros. I looked around for cheaper ones with clamps, but the designs weren't quite as nice.

But now that I think about it, perhaps I could try making some myself, similar to the ones I saw back then that I liked, but with clamps instead? I was always good at crafting things, so perhaps I should just give it a try.

Since you mentioned it hurts to wear them for too long, I should probably save them for special occasions after I've made them.
Thank you for the suggestion!

Yes. Im not sure where to buy the holder for those clamped ones. There are those that have a meganism that sort of clamp or snap closed. But my grandmother has a pair that you have to screw tight.
The latter one might be less painful to wear because you can adjust the squeezing on your earlobe.

Clothing is both a practical and self-expressive item that everyone wears. You can gather a huge file of information about a person from clothing alone, some things most don't care to look at. You want success? Don't dress like a hobo or a druggy, keep your appearance clean, and your chances sky-rocket compared to those who don't.

We wear what we wear because we want or need to for whatever reasons, we're lucky to not be forced into certain styles unlike previous ages. People might look at you funny for wearing something outside the norm, but they won't hang you for it. Depending on how one wants to express themselves some will opt for impractically more so because of apparent beauty. I don't see the issue there, people can choose what they want. Lacking knowledge doesn't help with making smart choices though. What most don't understand is that you can have beautiful clothing without compromising on practicality if people just knew what they were doing and didn't get hooked into the fast fashion shit.

The clothing that is most maintenance heavy is actually the clothes you wear against your skin, not the ones that are the most expensive looking or lavish. Sounds counter-intuitive huh? Because undergarments are constantly exposed to harsh washing, and wear and tear from rubbing against the skin and outer clothes. That is why undergarments were once made with waxed linen thread for the seams, and linen (sometimes cotton) fabric, because it needed to be strong enough to withstand the constant wear. The outer clothes however, you dry clean and keep safe in your closet until needed. How many people regularly wash their coats or most expensive dresses? How often are they worn and for what occasions? These clothes may appear to be maintenance heavy but they're actually the opposite. The most repairs and maintenance you'll ever do is for clothing your wear against the skin and wash frequently.

Back in the day, everything was maintenance heavy especially for the working class, because everything was done by hand and if your clothes started falling apart there wasn't a Target down the road to just grab a new shirt. You made your own clothes, your maintained them and washed them, and turned anything too worn down into something useful like rags or other garments. Nothing was wasted. Today you just wash it and if it falls apart or gets a rip, you buy a new one and cycle repeats.

Pockets have come and gone over the ages. The first "pockets" were tie-on's and satchels before they were sewn into the clothes to reduce theft. Now you see a reduction in pockets and increase in bags, go figure with what the average person carries with them these days and the price tag for merchants. Pockets are needed for anyone on the go and working, because we have personal items that we carry with us constantly. Some people choose clothing without pockets and replace it with a nice bag. What do you need pockets for at a dinner party when you're wearing an expensive pretty dress? You don't need to carry anything with you. Some styles of clothing make it difficult to incorporate pockets while keeping the clothing comfortable.

If you want to really look at impractical clothing look at jeans. No good for cold weather, horrible for the summer. Makes your butt and legs look great at the expense of pinching your nether regions and unable to sit comfortably. If they get wet, it takes forever to dry them.

The car example makes no sense. Each type of car has its pros and cons, different functions for different uses. A truck is great for anyone in the trade but inefficient for running errands around town. You don't use a tool for the wrong job just like you don't wear an expensive dress when working the fields.

Also did you see what morgan donner did with her hair? I freaked out about het shaving her head. What the fuck.

I think theyve been sending some curses their way because we mentioned them here.

Unlikely to do much at this point, I'm afraid. You can try with a letter or something, but I checked her channel and it seems she's probably already decided a new project. Probably better not to risk it. Whatever she's deciding to make now I can only hope it doesn't get flushed again by more idiots. That's the trap, really. If you worry your whole life about whether what you make is going to piss someone off, you'll never make anything.

Yeah I did, had me freaked too for a bit. Not something I expected since her style is more medieval-esque.

I've had the same thought, honestly. It makes sense to do so as a tactic to embed fear of talking about other people who are not under the protection of the Gods, least we want them to be hurt or whatever. It wouldn't have been much if they did send curses since while these people are influencers they're not high profile or anything of such, but given the lack of AoP and aura cleaning, they wouldn't have been able to fend off a basic curse anyway. Just more psychological warfare I guess if so.

I watched her video, the hairstyles were fascinating, and then she shaved her head

This could be true about mentioning people here. A certain Swedish vlogger has lost about half of her hair this past year. Those of you who watch her videos will have heard her mention it recently. For this past while I was like "is she losing her hair?" and then it was confirmed. She said it's due to stress.

This is just me wondering.. but is there not a way to break up the underlying anxiety thats spread around the world right now? Or would it only harm the future outcome if that was done?

Because its not just stress, if you don't have food you won't have enough nutrients to grow enough hair.

I haven't seen that video yet though jrvan tells me the same since he watched it as well.

I guess the best thing we can do is continue to do our part here and be careful of naming - though given the thread I made difficult not to since I used specific videos to aid in learning. It's sad sometimes watching withouts who are good people be subjected to whatever is thrown their way. It's give a lot of perspective of just how much your life improves by finding Father Satan and advancing.

Oh, congratulations btw!! I saw the HP's comment to you on the new announcement. I don't need to say it but you've well and truly earned it :)

I think part of her problem is not eating properly (as shown in some of her videos during mealtimes), and bleaching her hair too much. I wanted to post some other videos for women, of one youtuber who has amazing hair tips, but if she also started losing her hair it would be tragic! Hers is so long and healthy.

Thanks :)

Hmm, diet sure does impact a lot of things, everything from skin and hair health to immune system etc. It's moments like these I wish I'd had the sense to pursue further into nutritional health past basic studies, if only to broaden my knowledge.

Yeah that'd suck bad. There's a lot that can be said when someone takes the time to keep their body well cared for. You see it in animals too, the healthier the hair/fur the healthier the animal. It would be great to have some posts for women, I know many - myself included - would appreciate them. I'll admit, I'm prone to neglect when things get overwhelming. A couple years ago I went through a "shave it off" phase when my hair had suffered from bad times and curses.

I don't remember if I have already touched on this but recently I found an article on different seam finishes that I found pretty helpful when stuck on a personal project. They can be done by hand or on machine (the article shows examples for machine). If you want your seams to look crisp and flat like in the pictures use an iron - can also help to reduce the bulkiness of the seams. Small tip with a french seam, you can iron the little seam flap to lay sideways and that will help hold it in place somewhat and remain flat against the fabric.

Link includes the following:
Pinked seams (requires pinking shears)
Zig-zag seam stitch
Clean finish edge
French seam
Flat felled seam
Overlocked/serged finish

Hello sister Tabby. Indeed, it has been a while since our previous conversation.

Thank you for taking your time and finding some tutorials for me. I am amazed that you actually remembered about it. I would like to find more time to devote to my new hobby, which is sewing, but surely someday, when I will have more free time I will try something from what you just showed me. The last tutorial with lamb is cute. As for sewing plushies from socks, in my case I already knew it beforehand, because I used to sew various things from socks , but as you can see, socks can be approached creatively in many ways. :D

The last thing I sewed was something similar to the one from the second tutorial, but with different character and show for my sister. It reminded me, that I had some qualms about doing something new to her, because the last time I sewed her snail, I had no life with her. Wherever I went, whenever I did something, it was just that damned snail everywhere. She gave me literally no peace with him. Then, when her craze phase passed with this snail, I sewed her some kind of magic girl.

(as for the glue, don't worry, I'm joining the club. I also had a brilliant experiment with glue  )

I hope you doing good as well. Thank you again!

No problem :D I kept forgetting and trying to remind myself to do it these past months, so I'm surprised I managed to get around to it when I did, lol.

I understand the feeling. I struggle to give attention to my sewing and make time for it. Just doing a little each day when you have a moment, even like 20 minutes, you'll see your project slowly form and take shape to completion even if the process isn't as speedy as you would like. Sometimes, if that's all the time you can spare, that's all the time you need to create something.

When I have a moment to sit for a bit, I like to do some hand sewing on my projects, and even though I get maybe half an arms length done in that time, it helps to not feel like I'm neglecting or unable to do my projects because of lacking time. Waiting for "when there's time" tends to end up never really starting or finishing projects.

It's only a suggestion, but give it a shot. See what you can do in the little moment you can spare in the day, and then tomorrow, do just a little more. Slow, but in the end, rewarding.

I've only made puppets from socks so I had no clue they could be plushies, haha. The story of your sister is sweet, I like hearing experiences like that.

Oh btw, off topic but your profile picture inspired me to find the painting that I currently have as my profile (I like the style and vibe of your profile picture).

Good luck in your sewing!

Greetings Prez, it's been a while.

I have a few links for plushies if you're still interested. I'm not sure what kind of plushies/mascots you were after back then but hope these are interesting or useful at least.

https://youtu.be/azJNxt9J_gA (complex plushie design)
https://youtu.be/i8pynOiqeaw (human type plushie - this one kinda reminds me of me noobie sewing days when I still used glue  )
https://youtu.be/yCGU0rKty2E (detailing on plushies)
https://youtu.be/--qOWqdC28M (sock plushie - didn't know these were a thing)
https://youtu.be/CWBxctY2_b0 (another sock plushie + felting techniques for details)

Hoping you're doing well.

In my case, the problem with finding time for it (not only with sewing, but also with other activities) resulted from several factors. When I managed to find free time, I preferred to spend it on meditation etc. and especially cleaning, because this is something I pay special attention to. A few days ago I passed an important exam, so I will have more time to devote to myself, also to check more the forum, because I neglected it a bit. Among other things, I also started to continue my drawing, that I started centuries ago. I want to develop my drawing skills as well. Perhaps, stubbornly, there would be time to spend at least those five minutes on sewing, but now I have no excuses not to do it. :P
I hope you will find time for it too. :)

Oh, this is nice! I just noticed that we have a similar aesthetic. The author of the image I have on my avatar is Charles Edward Perugini. His wife was also a painter. And I've seen your painting somewhere at 666% before. Then I remembered the author was Valentine Cameron. And a little fact: he belonged to a group called Pre-Raphaelites, which also included Dante Rossetti, who is the author of the painting Lady Lilith. Now I'm not really sure, if the author of my avatar was not part of it either. I will check this later.

Aah, that makes sense. (Congrats on your exam!). Crafts really aren't the easiest thing to juggle with meditation and spells, etc, are they? I'm sure we'll get there, haha.

I had no idea, that's really cool! Thanks for sharing that little tid-bit with me :D . Now I want to go study more of these artists paintings.

Thank you for sharing this ❤️
