Help with Ancient Greek language

Greetings to my Greek brothers and sisters !

Please forgive me for not using the Greek language here, as I don't personally know it.

Does anyone here know Ancient Greek ? What are the differences between it and Modern Greek ?

You see, I am learning and experimenting with AI tools to create music. and I made a piece to glorify and honour Lord Kheiron. However, I created with the lyrics in Ancient Greek based on what the AI knows. And i'm not sure how accuare is AI in that regard.

I'm trying to figure out how to improve my song further. I thought I would start by writing the lyrics in accurate Ancient Greek.

Any help or assistance would be appreciated !

Have a Great day !

Hello, Brother. 🙏
What you are trying to do is a beautiful thing. Unfortunately, I don't know ancient Greek. Not that many Greeks know ancient Greek. We do learn it at school, but in time we forget since we don't use it in our lives.

If anyone else knows and can help you out, I hope they will respond.

Otherwise, you could dig around the internet for forums with people talking about ancient Greek, and maybe you can find something willing to help.

Greetings Sister

I really appreciate that you replied and tried to help me; I learned something interesting, that you study Ancient Greek in schools here,

I did find some online courses i will try my luck there.

Thank you, and have a great day 🙏

Greetings, brother

Thank you for your reply and for offering to help.

I had to put off learning Ancient Greek for a while, some more pressing matters have suddenly come up that I need to take care of.

So i just shared a first ever piece I composed on the forum using AI help and tools:
https://ancient-forums.com/threads/hymn-to-lord-kheiron-%E2%80%93-my-first-attempt-at-creating-music-that-would-honor-our-god.307701/

You can listen to it and let me know if you think it sounds like a proper Ancient Greek in your opinion or other feedback and criticism. I had to improvise and use lytics in phonetic format, because artificial intelligence have a lot of issues in pronouncing and reading Greek letters correctly.

I plan to create other pieces to honor our other Gods, once I find more time. And if you'd be interested, I'll consult with you on Ancient Greek for my future songs.

Ancient Greek sound way better in my experiments with the songs honouring our Gods and others compare to English in my opinion., it has that power and way better sets proper mood just in the way i wanted.

The ending for example sounds more clear around 2:10-2:20, try to make it sound like this again , this is my opinion only. You can send me the scripts with DM anytime

I apologize if this is a redundant question, what translator platforms have you used to check your lyrics, thus far?
I personally find it helpful to translate, then plug the translation in to reverse translate and make sure its accurate.

Google translate offers ancient Greek.(free) i use this often for other languages and my best results are when I check translation in reverse prior to using. (Based on feedback from extended family)

💡 Polytranslator.com offers classic, Koine and Homeric Greek ( not free)

An AI tool like that will likely pronounce Greek letters / words with modern pronunciation although it may get confused from the unfamiliar words. This by itself is not a problem because it's correct to pronounce ancient Greek as modern. Join our Ancient Greek group on Vultus Templorum if you want to learn some Greek and share your experiences so far!
