fixed stars

According to the JOS astrology manual (pg.9) fixed stars apply in aspects other than oppositions but according to others(...) it is ONLY oppositions that apply/have relevance. To my mind it would be all aspects but I would like to know people's opinions as to what is the case.

princeps/ saturn
antares /uranus
aculeus and acumen /neptune
wega/ sun
giede and altair/ mercury
caput algol/ chiron

Have to figure out the oppositions. Might have to pay astro.com to find out

The opposite of a fixed star is the same degree in the opposing sign from whichever sign that fixed star is in. For example a star on 3' Taurus would oppose from 3' Scorpio and so forth. You don't need to pay anyone lol.
