How long do you do step one until going to step two/three/Philosopher's stone? Hail Satan!

When you are ready. If you are at this point, you will know.

Ideally, if you are up to doing this, you should be doing it indefinatly. Meditations aren't something to be done on a certain time frame, from this point A in time, to point B in time. But to be done indefinatly. Even the most adept will still be doing basic meditations, as these are the foundation for meditation.

As Eb Haradren Amlug said, We are all individual so the time it takes depends.

Anywere from (the quickest I have hear of) a little over a year
(this person was very very spiritually advance in past lives)
To a little over two decades or even longer, a lot even counts on your Natal Charts.
such as if you have Saturn in Pisces such as I do, you may have trouble with spiritual advancement, but then you will hit a breakthrough.
