Blocking karma

I wanted to know if there's a way that I can shield any negative consequences that are coming my way from my past or "cleanse" them or convert these energies into positivity and love? I'm trying to get my stuff together and energies from my past are killing my dreams. I know that it's not karma. How can I manipulate the law of attraction/ cause and effect to neutralize negativity that I planted in my past that effects me now?

Try positive thinking; making short and to the point statements in the present tense that things are going well for you, everything is going smoothly, etc. You get the idea.
