Is the black sun symbol supposed to be used like the runes by visualizing the black sun engulfing whatever your desire is that you are putting the energy into? And also are solar mantras in multiples of thirteen supposed to be used with the black sun symbol, or can any mantra in multiples of thiteen(there are thirteen rays in the black sun and the thirteenth is in the center) pertaining to the desire at hand be used with the black sun symbol?

yes to your first question, but as far as mantras go you can use any
you wish, but yes, vibrate them 13 times as that is the number of
change and power.
