A simple question

I've been coming across people who pronounce the word "chakra" different ways.
I've always pronounced it with a hard CH sound, like in "cheese" because that always felt right to me.
Other people I know, though, pronounce it with a soft SH sound, like in "share".
Is there a right or wrong way to pronounce it? Or is it like many words where its just a personal preference? I'd hate to discover that I was wrong but if I am it is better to know now then continue doing it wrong.
Sorry to ask such a dumb question, it was just really bothering me.Thanks for your time.

<td val[/IMG]No question is dumb,as they say only one not asked.I always thought it was pronounced with the CH sound also, but I am a Yankee, and if I an not mistaken,High Priestess Pythia,is from the north also. And she pronounces it with a SH sound too.So I am just as confused as you about it.Maybe one of our resident adepts can help us out.

Even the spelling of the word is different in older western  texts. So the pronunciation has never been uniform, as well how many people where raised on Sanskrit? Even experts of Sanskrit cannot agree totally on the pronunciation of the language.   Basically it is no big deal.
