It depends on you place of residence but many simply do it though an app such as kraken or Coinbase . You transfer money from your bank to the app and then buy the crypto
To do so completely anonymously is alot harder but not impossible. However to donate with a normal app there shouldn’t be any issue .

If I'm not mistaken, the app Binance doesn't ask for too much information about you, like photos of your ID and such. It's quite easy to use.

I would recommend buying on P2P platforms, most of them are anonymous, for example: Bisq, RoboSats, Hodl Hodl. Google about them and about buying without KYC.

Usually in big and mid-size city there have bitcoin/crypto meetup like chat in irl, here you can ask to someone to send you bitcoin, you pretend to be a novice, they are usually more than happy to send you like $100 or similar to have you explain how it works, and they usually take a 5-10% commission.
