How to visualize for energy breathing into chakras?

How am I supposed to visualize when breathing white gold energy into a Chakra or my pineal gland? I can think of a few ways.

1. Surround myself in the light. Visualize it entering the Chakra as I breathe.
2. Visualizing the light only in front of the Chakra.
3. Visualizing light only on the Chakra, brightening with each exhale, and energy breathe with the intent to take that specific energy in.

Are these all valid?

Breathe energy into the chakra with the inhale, imagine the chakra getting brighter with the exhale. You don't need to worry where the energy is coming from, or surround yourself with it, etc. There is energy all around you at all times.
