After overlooking a bit the wonderful book about Yoga Mantras by David Frawley. I wonder why the sacral chakra is associated with water & the bija mantra of water. (Vaṁ) But on JOS the infos about the sacral chakra says it's of the Earth element.

Well Void meditation will help him make clearer decisions. IMO will surely help him being aware that he essentially WANTS to meditate. When practicing Void meditation you gradually regain grasp of your thoughts and emotions. Then you create and shape those you want as in affirmations.
