  • Hymn to Zeus

    Most glorious of immortals, Zeus
    The many named, almighty evermore,
Nature’s great Sovereign, ruling all by law
Hail to thee! On thee ’tis meet and right

    That mortals everywhere should call.
From thee was our begetting; ours alone
Of all that live and move upon the earth
The lot to bear God’s likeness.
Thee will I ever chant, thy power praise!

For thee this whole vast cosmos, wheeling round
The earth, obeys, and where thou leadest
It follows, ruled willingly by thee.
In thy unconquerable hands thou holdest fast,
Ready prepared, that two-timed flaming blast,
    The ever-living thunderbolt:
Nature’s own stroke brings all things to their end.
By it thou guidest aright the sense instinct
Which spreads through all things, mingled even
With stars in heaven, the great and small —
Thou who art King supreme for evermore!

Naught upon earth is wrought in thy despite, O God.
Nor in the ethereal sphere aloft which ever winds
About its pole, nor in the sea — save only what
The wicked work, in their strange madness,
Yet even so, thou knowest to make the crooked straight.
Prune all excess, give order to the orderless,
For unto thee the unloved still is lovely–
And thus in one all things are harmonized,
The evil with the good, that so one Word
Should be in all things everlastingly.

One Word–which evermore the wicked flee!
Ill-fated, hungering to possess the good
They have no vision of God’s universal law,
Nor will they hear, though if obedient in mind
They might obtain a noble life, true wealth.
Instead they rush unthinking after ill:
Some with a shameless zeal for fame,
    Others pursuing gain, disorderly;
Still others folly, or pleasures of the flesh.
[But evils are their lot] and other times
    Bring other harvests, all unsought–
For all their great desire, its opposite!

But, Zeus, thou giver of every gift,
Who dwellest within the dark clouds, wielding still
The flashing stroke of lightning, save, we pray,
Thy children from this boundless misery.
Scatter, O Father, the darkness from their souls,
Grant them to find true understanding
On which relying thou justly rulest all—
While we, thus honoured, in turn will honour thee,
Hymning thy works forever, as is meet
For mortals while no greater right
Belongs even to the gods than evermore
Justly to praise the universal law!

    By Cleanthes
Come then do you also having observed these things look to the faculties which you have, and when you have looked at them, say : Bring now, O Zeus, any difficulty that thou pleasest, for I have means given to me by Thee and powers' for honouring myself through the things which happen. You do not so : but you sit still, trembling for fear that some things will happen, and weeping, and lamenting, and groaning for what does happen : and then you blame the Gods. For what is the consequence of such meanness of spirit but impiety? And yet Zeus has not only given us these faculties ; by which we shall be able to bear everything that happens without being depressed or broken by it; but, like a good king and a true father. He has given us these faculties free from hindrance, subject to no compulsion, unimpeded, and has put them entirely in our own power, with- out even having reserved to Himself any power of hindering or impeding. You, who have received these powers free and as your own, use them not : you do not even see what you have received, and from whom ; some of you being blinded to the giver, and not even acknowledging your benefactor, and others, through meanness of spirit, betaking yourselves to fault-finding and making charges against Zeus. Yet I will show to you that you have powers and means for greatness of soul and manliness: but what powers you have for finding fault and making accusations, do you show me.

    Epictetus - Discourses
WHEN you wake, say to yourself-To- day I shall encounter meddling, ingratitude, violence, cunning, malice, self- seeking ; all of them the results of men not knowing what is good and what is evil. But seeing that I have beheld the nature and nobility of good, and the nature and meanness of evil, and the nature of the sinner, who is my brother, participating not indeed in the same flesh and blood, but in the same mind and partnership with the divine, I cannot be injured by any of them; for no man can involve me in what demeans.

Marcus Airelius - To Himself (second book)

Found new meaning while rereading this after quite a few years. The rest of the text is very much worth examining with zevist eyes and mind. Enjoy, heed, apply.

If any one can convince and show me that some view or action of mine is wrong, I will cheerfully change : I seek the truth, which never yet hurt any man. What hurts is persisting in self deceit and ignorance. I do my own duty ; all things else distract me not ; for they are either things without breath, or things without reason, or things misguided, that know not the way. You have reason ; unreasoning creatures and the world of material things have none : therefore in your dealings with them rise superior and free. Men have reason ; therefore in your dealings with them, own the social tie. In all things call upon the gods. And trouble not over the time it occupies ; three hours so spent avail.
Watching these guys is such a treat. The carpenter bee (Xylopa Violacea) is a majestic sight, so powerful, so beautiful.

With a background of Paganini's concertos for violin and guitar it becomes quite the show. There's also some small singer birds completing the sonic langscape (and a rooster ruining it from time to time). The visuals are mostly static. Blooming apricot and plum trees and still leafless great poplars both canadian and european. Except from the bees, the moving parts are falling leaves and the river flowing on its way.

The great company is made up of a few cats, a dog, some wild ducks, a frog, snakes, squirrels, regular honey bees, woodpeckers, and a bunch of pigeons, doves and sparrows. There's probably others too but they're to well hidden or too small to see.

Thankful for these moments and I just want to share these blessings with you and remind you of the importance of having beauty around for the sake of health and wellbeing.

The virtuous man might be a slave, a victim to disease, to poverty, might be deprived of all he loved, yet he would remain solely and absolutely happy.

A thought from Alice Zimmer's foreword to the Meditations by Marcus Aurelius illustrating the stance of stoics on virtue, which I don't fully agree with, but it does hold a degree of truth that can be refined through a satanic filtering analysis.

When coupled with power, virtue brings one closer to being divine and shields its possessor from many hardships in life.
Derived from the name of the Siberian Tatar tribe себер, from earlier сыбыр, meaning locals (where ыр = men, nation, people; сибэ = alluvial deposit, throw to the ground; literally, "scattered [living] here people").

In a broader sense we're all sibiri or people scattered throughout the land. I love Siberia, its majestic nature fills my heart with joy.

    Happy Satan's day !!

It is a beautiful place, pristine. Have you heard of Otyken? They're a siberian band that combines traditional siberian instruments and technique with modern music. The girls sing in an endangered siberian language.

This song has a similar name and apparently calls on the names of ancient turkic gods:

It's great that they're promoting the culture and language and bringing it closer to young people by combining it with modern stuff but honestly, I don't like the electronic sounds, I'm a rather traditional and primitive guy. Thanks nevertheless for the suggestion.

Try to learn throat singing if you haven't already. It can bring power and control in your regular vibratory practices.

Another technique that can be useful for Zevism interested in improving their chanting/vibrating abilities is overtone singing. When combined with regular throat singing it becomes a technique called sygyt. It can be difficult to master but once you get the hang of it this can add a lot of power to your vibrating.

Thank you for the welcome note. Do we know each other from before? I've been here for quite some time despite the age of this profile.

It wouldn't surprise me,. Especially if we have been on here for awhile. And it could be a possibility that we've met each other on Facebook somewhere too. ☕🙂 It's a small world!
