Not advisable to completely new people who haven't any or little spirtual "maturity" per se; e.g a fresh beginner. Also if you yourself feel you are ready for this type of meditation, I'd advise you to go at your own pace and only do as much as you can handle. You don't need to push yourself...

Meditate everyday. You can lie down and meditate. The effects are a little different as you're more relaxed but you'll make progress all the same. Just make sure not to fall asleep doing them. :3 Ave Satanas! Haizuru

There ate certain signs that show you that you're "doing what you're supposed to". The crawling ants feeling is showing you that you're stimulating the serpent and also - obviously - raising your own energy levels. Quite simply put; Keep it up. Ave Satanas!

When you do the exercises enough you obviously establish something in your mind that tells you that you no longer need to keep them "closed" I assume you mean that since you put open after open...it's the same for trances. Once you're good at them you can trance with your eyes closed or open...

Don't look for your GD. It makes it harder for you to even "find" them; I know I used to look for mine. Just let go and worry about yourself. Then when you're READY they shall come to you either in a dream, meditation or they appear to you directly. Just let go and let things take its course...
