How do I start a standard ritual for our Father on his day today the 23rd?

Is there a specific time that would be best for meditations or should I just ensure a quiet space where I wont be disturbed? And is it better to burn an incense while meditating or doing it cold. I'm sure I'll learn what's best for me along the way, I just need a heading.

How did you start? And I mean square 1. I'm willing to dedicate myself to this, so I want to know what I need to do.
